From our member in Cambodia who has completed his Tropical Agriculture programme at our Credit level and has re-enrolled onto Conservation Studies.
Congratulations to Ann S of Yorkshire on completing her Leisure Gardening course with a Distinction. It took her 4 years to finish with some ill-health problems along the way so she did very well indeed.
To Audrey W of Ireland who rang with the good news that she had passed the RHS Advanced Module A with commendation.
LMH from South Wales wrote on her end of course response "I have found the course very helpful, widening my perspective and understanding in all aspects. It is a subject that I have followed passionately for many years" - she was awarded one of our Senior Tutors Prizes - Conservation Studies
REB from Wiltshire writes of his Garden Planting and Layout course "of particular value was the filling of a gap in my knowledge with regard to the development of gardens through history and the contrasting styles that have evolved over time"
Dr. Cathy F has kindly written to say we may quote her remarks about the RHS General (green) edition: "May I take this opportunity to thank the college for a very enjoyable and informative course. I even enjoyed yesterday's exam - the first I have taken for 20 years!
Mrs M H of London E4 who has re-enrolled for Beyond the Basics wrote to say: "my goal was to enjoy and be educated. This course has certainly done that" (RHS General studies - traditional).
Sally Cunningham keeps in touch - from almost our earliest days in running the HCC - she very kindly e-mailed to congratulate us on our 20 years. Sally has almost completed her MHort studies. She writes also of voles, cyclamen neapolitanum seed and propagation.
Jacqueline a Cottage Garden Designer in Yorkshire has said I may quote her:
"On a more personal note I would like to tell you how satisfying it is to finally be able to use my skills at a professional level. The niche market of planting plans seems to be much in demand in a rural location and I am thrilled to be able to help enhance/create the gardens which I often drive past. The work is ideal as I have the opportunity to meet people, be creative on a large scale, improve my plant knowledge and still be able to work from home and around a young family."
Steve Jones who studied our Garden Landscape & Design Drawing course wrote that he is hoping to develop his part-time garden design work into full-time work. His base is in the WIRRAL, Cheshire. Our good wishes to him.
